The company intends to use the funding for its commercialization efforts. It is currently building partnerships with institutions and individuals such as colleges and universities, hospitals and cancer clinics, breast cancer associations and others, across America.

Led by CEO Krista M.C. Conley, Vtrim has commercialized an online implementation of clinical treatment for weight loss and healthy weight management developed in the University of Vermont Nutrition and Food Sciences department. The Vtrim program offers online education, peer support, and expert feedback designed to empower participants to change unhealthy behaviors and adopt eating and activity levels to support lifelong healthy weight.
Participants enroll in online classes (led by a Registered Dietitian who has undergone Vtrim’s rigorous 45-hour training program) that include:
– completing a behavior-modification curriculum and
– attending a scheduled online chat session that provides both peer support and expert-led interaction pertaining to the current lesson.
The program also includes self-monitoring using an online, interactive food and exercise journal and regular guidance, feedback, and accountability from their facilitator via web and e-mail.
