remocean, a Naples, Italy-based start up that has developed an innovative real time sea state monitoring system, has recently received a €1m equity funding from Atlante Ventures Mezzogiorno.
With the investment, Atlante Ventures Mezzogiorno, a fund of the IMI San Paolo venture capital subsidiary, has acquired a minority stake in the company, which intends to use the capital to grow and commercialize its solutions.
Founded in 2010 as a spin-off from the CNR (Italian National Research Council), by Francesco Serafino and Massimo D’Ambrosio, remocean has developed and offers an hardware/software system that uses mandatory X-band radars to analyze sea state parameters with high spatial resolution in a range of 3 Nautical Miles from the radar sensor.
