NetPlenish Raises $1.9M in Seed Funding

NetPlenish, a Ventura, Calif.-based mobile shopping service, has raised $1.9m in seed funding.

Backers included Dave McClure’s 500 Startups, Gold Hill Capital, BHV Capital, TEEC Angel Fund, Ludlow Ventures, and several angel investors, including its founders.

Led by co-founder and CEO Dave Compton, NetPlenish allows merchants compete to provide the best price for everyday essentials such as diapers, dog food and detergent and deliver them to the users’ door. At the core of the service is its ShopGenius(TM) algorithm, which finds the best prices for multiple items within a user’s shopping list and lets merchants compete to provide the best overall price for the entire list, including shipping, sales tax and the lowest possible product price.
It is now available as an iPhone or Android app at http://netplenish.com.

The company has also created “No Checkout Checkout(TM)” which allows shoppers easily order products from NetPlenish’s roster of Trusted Merchants such as Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, Drugstore.com, and Sephora.
