DICOM Grid, a Phoenix, Arizona-based provider of a cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for medical imaging applications, has closed a $5m financing.
Backers include Canaan Partners, CHL Medical Partners and existing individual investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand distribution of its DG Suite.
Led by CEO Morris Panner, DICOM Grid offers a product line for managing diagnostic imaging and related health data.
It allows clinicians and patients to get real-time access to images, such as X-rays, CT scans or MRIs, on any device and upload images from a CD using any conventional PC or Mac.
The company’s DG Suite is now operating at more than 40 hospitals throughout the United States.
