Castlight Health Secures $100m in Series D Funding

Castlight Health, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of health care transparency solutions, has secured $100m in Series D funding.

The company intends to use the capital to expand its offering and extend adoption for its solutions.

The round, which brings the company’s total funding to $181m, includes participation from two unnamed mutual funds, as well as T. Rowe Price, Redmile Group and existing investors Allen & Company, Cleveland Clinic, Maverick Capital, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Oak Investment Partners, U.S. Venture Partners, Venrock, and Wellcome Trust.

Founded in 2008 by Giovanni Colella, M.D., CEO, Castlight Health, provides a health care management suite designed to enable employers to make reliable cost and quality data for medical services available to employees via the Web or mobile devices.
Clients include dozens of leading organizations including Allegis Group, Honeywell, Life Technologies and Regis Corporation, among others.
