batterii Raises $800K in Seed Funding

batterii, a Cincinnati, OH-based open-collaboration innovation software company, has raised $800k in seed-stage funding.

Backers include:
CincyTech, which has invested $300k,
– new CEO Kevin C. Cummins, who has invested $250k,
– the executive team, who have added $150k, and
– an undisclosed investor, who has committed $100k.

The company intends to use the funding to expand engineering and sales efforts.

Founded by chief creative officer Chad Reynolds, batterii offers a Web-based SaaS platform designed to enable companies to engage their employees, partners and customers to build new ideas, identify new products and drive process improvement to increase top-line revenue.
Key customers include Nike Inc. and home décor direct-sales company PartyLite.

The company, which has 16 full-time employees and plans to grow to 28 by year end, has just added:
Laurie Morse, vice president of global sales;
Challis Hodge, executive vice president of customer experience;
Joe Messina, executive vice president of strategy;
Nick Franceschina, chief technology officer;
Tom Brister, vice president of services; and
John Auer, vice president.
