Autology World Raises £330K

Autology World Limited, a Daresbury Science and Innovation Centre, UK-based provider of an e-learning application for secondary schools and colleges, has raised £330k in equity financing.

Backers include the North West Fund for Digital & Creative, managed by AXM Venture Capital Limited, which has made a further £200k equity investment into existing portfolio company.

The company intends to use the capital to continue to develop the Autology software platform and expand its marketing efforts into new regions across the UK.

Established in 2007 and led by CEO Eric Hobson, CTO Niels Montanana, and sales director Keith Edwards, Autology aims to accelerate and enhance students’ learning by combining contextual search software (Autonomy) with content of educational publishers. The company’s product suite, which was re-engineered to go live in February 2012, has been marketed through local authorities to cover entire counties and cities.
Autology, which is now used in 76 schools, is available for download to Windows PCs in schools throughout the UK, as part of Microsoft’s innovative new desktop Learning Suite.
