WeVideo, a Sunnyvale, CA-based provider of an online video editing platform, has raised $19.2m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Crest Capital Ventures of Houston, TX.
The company intends to use the funding for global expansion in the online video creation space for both consumers and businesses.
Founded in 2011 by Norwegian-based Inspera by CEO Jostein Svendsen WeVideo is an online platform for collaborative video production in the cloud that connects the user’s web editing and mobile device camera. It recently integrated with YouTube, commercially launched its product, partnered with the Qatar Foundation International (www.qfi.org). The company also developed and launched a video editing app for Android tablets, and “tag & bag” creation of broadcast promos.
