SingleHop Closes $27.5M Series A Financing

SingleHop, a Chicago, IL-based provider of highly automated Internet infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and cloud computing, has closed a $27.5m Series A financing.

The round was led by Battery Ventures.

Established in 2006, SingleHop SingleHop is a dedicated and cloud hosting provider that offers highly scalable, on-demand infrastructure services to both end-users and resellers primarily under monthly contracts. It delivers state-of-the-art hardware, server management customization and Infrastructure-as-a-Service. Its proprietary management platform, dubbed LEAP, enables its clients to design, deploy and manage all their Internet infrastructure from one, unified platform.
The company has over 10,000 servers in production, and three facilities – two in Chicago, one opening in Phoenix – where it employs 80 people. It is currently hiring (http://www.singlehop.com/about/careers/).

In conjunction with the funding, Battery’s Dave Tabors and Morad Elhafed will be joining co-founders Dan Ushman (CMO) and Zak Boca (CEO) on SingleHop’s Board of Directors.
