Toronto-based Klass Capital has received an investment from Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) to significantly increase the size of its Canadian based venture capital fund focused on enterprise software, information technology and e-commerce companies.
Led by Daniel Klass, Klass Capital Fund I, LP, now has $50m to invest in high growth Canadian technology businesses. The fund will be investing between $2m and $10m of equity per transaction in proven high growth technology businesses in e-commerce and enterprise software.
Since the company’s launch in 2010, the firm has invested in some of Canadian fastest growing enterprise software businesses, including Nulogy, Firmex and UnoApp.
Klass Capital is also in the process of closing a $4m financing deal in the workflow management space for large retailers that will be announced in the coming weeks.
