CrestaTech Raises $13M in Funding

CrestaTech, a Santa Clara, CA-based wireless systems company that combines precision RF IC engineering with digital signal processing techniques to enable region-free TV reception on any device, has secured a $13m round of funding.

Backers include Bechtolsheim Ventures, Benhamou Global Ventures, Sofinnova Ventures and AVM Capital LP.

The company intends to use the capital to accelerate development of Smart Tuner™ ICs for the market of Smart TV devices.

Led by CEO George Haber, and CFO Mathew Lewis, CrestaTech provides products that enable a single global platform for the TV of the future that is adaptable to support the cloud services, applications and feature sets found in mobile devices including notebooks, tablets, smartphones and media players.
Originally pioneered and marketed under the Xceive brand, its patented Smart Tuner™ architecture features an RF tuner and a programmable DSP.
