Biomass CHP Receives £100k Investment from Northstar Ventures

Biomass CHP, a Teesside, UK-based renewable energy company, recently received a £100k investment from Northstar Ventures.

Led by chairman Ralph Pickles, Biomass CHP has developed a wood-chip gasification process that produces renewable heat and energy without generating any liquid effluent.

The company is using the funds to build a new demonstration plant at Wilton, which will enable potential customers such as factories, industrial parks, leisure centres and schools to see how the process works.

Northstar Ventures has made the investment through the Finance for Business North East Proof of Concept Fund, which is backed by the European Investment Bank and the European Regional Development Fund.
