Arigos Biomedical Receives $350K Grant

Arigos Biomedical, an early-stage company that develops methods of cooling organs for long-term storage, received an up to $350k grant from the Thiel Foundation.

The foundation awarded the funding through Breakout Labs, its new revolving fund designed to promote innovation in science and technology.

Arigos plans to use the funding to move into lab space in Mountain View to advance its technology.

Led by Tanya Jones, co-founder and CEO, the company is developing technology that –  when combined with emerging advances in cryopreservation, tissue engineering, and stem cell therapies to eliminate graft rejection – is expected to make banked organs immediately available to anyone needing a transplant.
