The London Distillery Company Raises £250K through Crowdcube

The London Distillery Company Ltd (TLDC), a London, UK-based boutique artisanal spirits manufacturer, has raised £ 250K in equity crowdfunding through Crowdcube.

With the raising, forty-five investors acquired a 45% stake in the company. After receiving pledges from Friends & Family and Envestors private investor network amounting to £150k, Crowdcube members committed the remaining equity for £100k.

The company intends to use the funding for sales and marketing efforts and general operations. The London Distillery Company will hire both a part-time qualified distiller to act as site manager and a part-time sales executive.

Established in 2011 by whisky expert Darren Rook and Envestors partner Nick Taylor, TLDC will produce a London Single Malt Whisky, an in-house organic London Dry Gin and a range of premium Ready-to-Drink (RTD) barrel aged cocktails.
The company will have two main routes to market including:
– independent retailers, luxury department stores, fine hotels & bars and supply of ‘white label’ product;
– direct sales to UK & European spirits consumers.
