Industry Dive, a Washington, D.C.-based business-to-business online media company, has raised $400k in seed funding.
Backers include a group of D.C.-based angel investors led by Cal Simmons.
The company intends to use the capital to expand the team, continue development of its product, and launch into new markets.
Formed in January 2012 by CEO Sean Griffey, COO Ryan Willumson and CTO Eli Dickinson, Industry Dive delivers industry-specific content for executives via mobile website, mobile app, desktop site, and e-newsletter.
To date, the company has launched five titles including Construction Dive, Utility Dive, Marketing Dive, Education Dive, and Waste Management Dive, and plans to have dashboards for 12 industries by the end of the year.
