Elo7, a Brazilian marketplace for buying and selling handicraft products, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Insight Venture Partners.
The company intends to use the capital to accelerate marketing initiatives, build the technology platform, recruit industry professionals and strength its community of artisans.
Founded in 2008 by entrepreneurs Julian and Monica Ipolito and led by CEO Carlos Curioni, Elo7 is a marketplace that aims to foster trade handicraft products on-line, providing and a platform for both buyers and sellers. According to a written statement, the site has more than 75k registered craftsmen offering over 1.5m products. It has more than 40 million pageviews and 5 million visits per month.
