CANWE STUDIOS LLC, an Austin, TX-based mobile application development company, has secured $1.5m in funding through private investors.
The round was led by Dan Kloiber, an angel investor and technology entrepreneur.
Founded in 2011 by CEO Brooke Braswell and Kloiber, CANWE STUDIOS is building a platform for social location-based apps that match individuals in the right context, including business, recruitment and nightlife.
The first application, which will be launched this summer, is CanWeNetwork, which will allow business professionals to network with high-value peers seeking new business opportunities.
The CanWeNetwork app is currently accepting requests for its invite-only testing phase and is expected to be available (for free) for the iPhone and Android phones.
