BrandYourself.com Raises $1.2M in Series A Funding

BrandYourself.com, a Syracuse, NY-based start up that launched a do-it-yourself platform to help people control their own Search results, has raised $1.2m in Series A funding.

Investors include Zelkova Ventures, as well as a group of angel investors including Barney Pell, former head search strategist at Microsoft, and Carl Shramm, former CEO of the world-renowned Kauffman Foundation.

Founded in 2009 by Syracuse University classmates Pete Kistler, CEO Patrick Ambron and Evan McGowan-Watson, BrandYourself.com provides a do-it-yourself platform that allows users to take control of their own search results. The solution aims to make the “Search Engine Optimization” process simple so anyone (job applicants, small business owners, professional service providers, professionals, etc.) can make relevant results shows up when they are Googled online.
