stereomood Raises Seed Funding

stereomood, an Italian free “emotional” internet radio, has raised a seed funding of undisclosed amount.

The round was led by Innogest SGR, with participation from angel investors from the Italian Angels for Growth
network, including Antonio Conati Barbaro and Massimo Petrella.

The company intends to use the capital for product development, adding functions to enhance the users’ listening experience on tablets, smartphones, media and pr campaigns to increase the user base.

Founded in 2009 by CEO Daniele Novaga, Giovanni Ferron, Maurizio Pratici and Eleonora Viviani, the startup operates a web radio that recommends music based on human emotions. Through its recommendation system, stereomood facilitates the discovery of music among 50,000 tracks coming from international music blogs.

It currently has 350,000 registered users, 110,000 fans on Facebook and 13,000 on Twitter.
