Nomos Software Raises €500K in Funding

Nomos Software, a Cork, Ireland-based specialist software company, has raised €500k in funding.

The round was led by Kernel Capital, which made the investment through the Bank of Ireland Seed and Early Stage Equity Fund, with the remainder of funds provided by Enterprise Ireland.

The company intends to use the capital to further strengthen its core offering through the recruitment of sales and technical staff over the next six months expand abroad.

Founded in 2007 by CEO Tricia Balfe and CTO David Garry, Nomos delivers software solutions to the financial sector which address the costly problem of building and testing financial software. The company’s model driven software is designed to allow businesses to ensure that their financial data complies with business rules leading to a significant reduction in testing cost, schedule and risk, and also assisting in reporting against regulatory requirements.

In conjunction with the funding, Dr. Chris Horn, Co-founder & former CEO of IONA Technologies PLC, has joined Nomos’ Board as non-executive director.
