C2C LLC (doing business as Combat2CareerTM), a West Simsbury, Conn.-based online platform that enables military veterans to search for and apply to higher education programs aligned with their skill sets and interests, has received funding from Connecticut Innovations’ Pre-Seed Fund.
The transaction is part of a $450,000 total funding that Connecticut Innovations has provided to three Conn.-based startup technology companies.
Launched in 2011, Combat2Career is designed to facilitate the transition from military to civilian life through a social network of veterans, mentors, and professionals. It helps prior service members locate and apply to appropriate college and university programs, as well as enable connections to companies interested in hiring veterans.
The company, which received early support through the UConn Innovation Accelerator, is the first company to participate in Startup Connecticut, the Connecticut branch of the Startup America program, a White House initiative to promote and nurture entrepreneurship in the U.S.
