Thought Equity Motion Receives $28M Investment from Investcorp Technology Partners

Thought Equity Motion, a Denver, Colorado-based provider of cloud-based video management and footage licensing services, has received a $28m investment from Investcorp Technology Partners.

With the investment, Investcorp Technology Partners has acquired a significant minority stake and will become the largest single shareholder in the company.
It will help Thought Equity Motion’s founders, existing management team and investors grow in the U.S. and in international markets.

Led by CEO & Founder Kevin Schaff, the company offers cloud-based storage, access and licensing services for master-quality video. Its T3 Platform supports storage, access, delivery, and monetization for major studios, sports rights holders, and other media companies worldwide. Its global footage licensing platform is a premier destination for video producers to license high-quality sports, news and entertainment content.
Among the others, Thought Equity Motion works with BBC Motion Gallery, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, National Geographic, The New York Times, and the NCAA®.

In conjunction with the financing, Andrew Flett, a partner at Investcorp in New York, will join Thought Equity Motion’s board of directors along with Hazem Ben-Gacem, an Investcorp managing director and co-head of its technology investment team.
