Solus Scientific Closes £700k Funding

Solus Scientific, a Glasgow, UK-based bacteria detection specialist, recently closed a £700k funding.

Backers include a significant investment by LBA Bruno Deschamps, Chairman & CEO of Entrepreneurs Partners LLP and EP Capital Ltd.

Founded in 2009 and led by Executive Chairman Douglas Dundonald, CEO Ray Wakefield, and CSO Prof. William Stimson, Solus is commercializing novel intellectual property in microbiological testing for pathogens such as Salmonella and Listeria.
The company intends to use the funding to accelerate the commercialization of its product in the microbiological and food testing market. It plans to launch the first of a new range of products for the rapid detection of foodborne pathogens in the Spring of 2012.

In conjunction with the funding, Deschamps also joined the company’s Board.
