SeaWell Networks Secures $5M in Series B Funding

SeaWell Networks Inc., a Mississauga, ON, Canada-based provider of multi-platform video delivery software for network operators, has raised $5m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Northwater Intellectual Property Fund LP 2 with participation from BDC Venture Capital.

The company intends to use the funding for ongoing trials with lead customers, expansion of sales and distribution capability, and development of its core product offering, Spectrum.

Led by co-founder and CEO Brian Collie, SeaWell Networks provides software for service providers to manage and optimize the delivery of HTTP adaptive bit rate (ABR) streaming video to any device or platform. Its adaptive bit rate (ABR) management solution, Spectrum, simplifies the delivery of video while enabling new ways to monetize content.
