Practice Fusion Raises Additional $2M in Funding

Practice Fusion, a San Francisco, CA-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) community, raised more than $2m in additional funding.

Backers include Jed Stremel, Facebook’s Former Director of Mobile, Ali Partovi and Hadi Partovi.

The company intends to use the funding to introduce new free features to support physician and patients, and develop mobile apps for the iPhone and iPad.

Led by CEO and Founder Ryan Howard, Practice Fusion provides physicians with a free, web-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system with charting, scheduling, e-prescribing (eRx), lab integrations, referral letters, Meaningful Use certification, support and a Personal Health Record for patients. It has an EMR community with more than 130,000 users serving 29 million patients.
