Kiwi Crate Raises $5M in Series A Financing

Kiwi Crate, a Mountain View-based company that operates a subscription-based service offering hands-on activities for kids, has raised 5$m in Series A financing.

Backers include existing investors. The round was led by Comcast Ventures, with participation from First Round Capital, Mayfield Fund, Felicis Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, Consigliere Brand Capital, Uj Ventures and 500 Startups.

The company intends to use the funding to scale the company, expand its product offering, and grow the community.

Led by CEO and founder Sandra Oh Lin and launched with seed financing last October (read here), Kiwi Crate operates a subscription-based service ($19.95 per month) that produces and delivers products designed to inspire creativity and curiosity in children, as well as offer convenience for parents. It provides all the necessary materials, ideas and instructions for a variety of activities, delivered monthly.
In conjunction with the funding, Comcast Ventures Managing Director Michael Yang will join Kiwi’s Board of Directors.
