Hammerkit Raises €1.25M in Funding

Hammerkit, a Helsinki, Finland-based cloud technology provider which opened an office at Liverpool Science Park, UK, in October 2010, has raised €1.25m (approximately £1.05m) in funding.

Backers include the North West Fund for Venture Capital, managed by EV, the North West Fund for Digital & Creative, managed by AXM, and Helsinki-based institutional investor Veraventure. The company has also received support from Tekes, the Finnish funding agency for technology and innovation.

Hammerkit intends to use the funding to establish its Cloudstore business in the UK. It plans to create 12 new jobs in Liverpool in the next year and a further 40-50 positions in the city within three to four years (http://www.hammerkit.com/careers).

Established in 2007 in Helsinki and led by CEO Mark Sorsa-Leslie, the company provides digital solutions for the PR and marketing industry. Its cloud-based web development toolkit and Cloudstore are designed to make it faster and easier to build professional-grade websites and social media applications.
