Cadence Biomedical Raises $750K in Funding

Cadence Biomedical, Inc., a Seattle, WA-based developer of a device designed to help people with severe disabilities walk, has raised $750k in funding.

The round was led by HealthTech Capital, with participation from Alliance of Angels, Frontier Angels, Keiretsu Forum Northwest, Sand Hill Angels, and Wings. Additional investors are expected to push the total to $1m or more.

The company intends to use the funding to launch its kinetic orthosis product, which is worn externally and provides stability and movement assistance to weakened muscles without the use of powered mechanisms. It is designed to amplify muscle strength and help to propel the user forward and lift the leg and foot in preparation for the next step.

The company is led by CEO Brian Glaister.
