Adzuna Raises £500K in Funding

Adzuna, a UK-based innovative job search engine, has raised £500k in funding.

Backers include Index Ventures, The Accelerator Group and existing investors including Passion Capital.

The company intends to use the funding to further develop its product around social and data, and expand into other verticals as well as international markets.

Launched in July 2011 by Andrew Hunter and Doug Monro, Adzuna is a search engine for classified ads which makes it easier for users to find the right job locally. In addition to listing around 500,000 vacancies, the site features Adzuna Connect, a tool that helps users “get hired with a little help from their friends” by connecting them to jobs where they have first or second-degree connections on LinkedIn or Facebook, as well as data about the jobs and companies recruiting including average salary data, employee reviews, interview questions and “CEO Approval ratings”.
The engine will soon open to properties and cars.
