Tribogenics Raises $2.5M in Funding

Tribogenics, a Marina Del Rey, California-based developer of technology that enables miniature low-cost X-ray sources for a wide range of applications, including scientific instruments, security screening and medical devices, has raised $2.5m in funding.

Backers include Flywheel Ventures and undisclosed angel investors.

The company intends to use the funding to commercialize its X-ray technology.

Founded in 2009 and led by CSO Dr. Carlos Camara and and newly appointed CEO Dale Fox, Tribogenics is developing new X-ray technology (discovered at UCLA and funded by DARPA and other agencies) for applications in mining, industrial, military, medical imaging, and many other industries.
