Pixeon Receives Investment from Intel Capital

Pixeon, a Florianópolis, Brazil-based medical imaging software company, has received an equity investment of undisclosed amount from Intel Capital.

The company intends to use the funding to boost its sales and marketing activities.

Led by CEO and shareholder Fernando Peixoto, Pixeon provides hospitals and clinics located in all five Brazilian regions with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), which enable the digital management and processing of medical images. Today, it has more than 150 installed PACS units.

In conjunction with the funding Claudia Goulart, former CEO of GE Healthcare in Latin America, will join Pixeon’s board as an independent member. Major shareholders in the company, including Fernando Peixoto and Iomani Engelmann, will fill other positions.
