Legend3D, a San Diego, CAdeveloper of 2D-to-3D conversion technology, has closed a $19m Series E financing.
The round was led by Northwater Capital Management, with participation from existing investors PAR Investment Partners, L.P., and Augustus Ventures Limited.
The company intends to use the funding for ongoing R&D efforts to enhance its proprietary 3D conversion pipeline, to increase partnerships with content owners on 3D film and television projects.
Founded in 2001 by COO and CTO Dr. Barry Sandrew, Legend3D uses a proprietary 2D-to-3D conversion process that combines skilled artistry with technology to enhance filmmakers’ storytelling, deepening their connections with audiences across the big screen and in home theatres worldwide.
