appssavvy Completes $7.1m Series 1-A Venture Capital Funding

appssavvy, a NYC-based activity advertising technology company, completed a $7.1m Series 1-A venture capital funding.

Backers include new investor AOL Ventures and existing investors True Ventures, The New York Times Company, Scott Kurnit and Howard Lindzon, among others.

The company intends to use the funding to continue to enhance its adtivity platform, build partnerships and relationships with publishers and advertisers, and expand internationally.

Led by co-founder and CEO Chris Cunningham, appssavvy has developed a platform (adtivity™) that enables web, social and mobile publishers to create new, display advertising opportunities reaching people as they perform activities.
Since launching in September, adtivity™ has been embraced by more than 125 publishers and advertisers.
