Veenome Raises $500K in Seed Funding

Veenome, a Washington, D.C.-based video indexing and discovery platform, has raised $500k in seed funding.

Backers include Ecosystem VC, private angel investors from Google, Dingman Center Angels and others.

The company intends to use the capital to enhance its recognition algorithms and APIs for its early customers, which include major global publishers and video providers.

Led by CEO Kevin Lenane and CTO David Geller, Veenome has developed the capability to translate video content into data for superior organization, publishing, sharing, searching and monetization. Utilizing proprietary automated video recognition technology (patents pending), Veenome identifies products, objects and brands in web and mobile videos. These objects are automatically tagged and indexed, so that they can be contextualized and associated with relevant commerce and social channels.
