Trippy Raises $1.75M in Seed Funding

Trippy, a Sicilcon Valley-based web and mobile application that allows friends help plan the user’s trip, has raised $1.75m in seed funding.

The round was led by Sequoia Capital and True Ventures, with participation from SV Angel and individual investors including Rob Solomon, Tim Ferriss, Brian Lee, Gil Ebaz, Brandee Barker, Chase Jarvis, Randi Zuckerberg, Jason Mraz, Rachel Zoe, etc..

The company intends to use the funding for product development.

Founded by CEO J.R. Johnson, Trippy taps into the user’s social media networks to get tips from the people who already know the traveler’s personal details.
