Samares Raises €2M in Equity Funding

Samares, a Sesto San Giovanni (Milan), Italy-based developer of smart energy solutions, has raised €2m in equity funding from Atlante Ventures Mezzogiorno.

The company intends to use the funding to develop new and existing products and expand its marketing and sales activities. A relevant portion of the investments will be made in Puglia, where Samares has opened its new operating base (Lecce) to better support its photovoltaic market clients.

Following the investment, Atlante Ventures Mezzogiorno wil become the majority shareholder in the company while the previous controlling investor Enerqos will maintain a minority stake.

Founded in 2008 by President Sandra Magnani, Samares develops innovative solutions (software and hardware) for the energy market, focusing on the management of renewable energy plants and active electric networks, as well as energy efficiency.

The company also operates an R&D facility in Navacchio (Pisa).
