Marshall Emergency Services Associates Receives Private Equity Investment

Marshall Emergency Services Associates, PLLC, a Lexington, Kentucky-based provider of emergency department and hospital medicine physician contract management services, has received an equity investment of undisclosed amount from Atlanta Equity Fund, LP and Fulcrum Equity Partners.

Atlanta Equity Fund, LP. and Fulcrum Equity Partners will lend both financial and operational support for Marshall’s growth initiatives. In conjunction with the recapitalization of the company, Amalgamated Bank provided a senior secured credit facility and Babson Capital provided both subordinated debt financing and an equity co-investment.

Upon the closing of the transaction, industry veterans Larry Kraska, CEO, and Waite Popejoy, CFO, are joining the company’s co-founders and co-presidents James Foster, MD, and John Mullins, MD.

Established in 1999, Marshall manages EDs and inpatient care for its client hospitals. It recruits, manages and staffs high-quality practitioners and administrators while ensuring efficient hospital operations through implementation of proprietary processes, procedures and a focus on quality metrics.
