HighlightCam, Inc., a Sunnyvale, CA-based developer of an app that automatically creates a pro-quality minimovie generated from unedited videos, recently closed $3m in Series A funding.
Backers include Quest Venture Partners, NTT DOCOMO and Digital Garage.
Today, the company also launched a new application, HighlightCam Social, which allows users to create quick mini-movies from their iOS and Android phones, and then share through various social channels. Built on Artificial Intelligence (AI) enhanced software with advanced mathematical objectives-based video creation algorithms, the app enables movie makers to incorporate video and photos from their friends and family, add titles, special effects and music for a complete movie.
Founded in 2009 by MIT and UC Berkeley Ph.Ds., and led by CEO Robert Neivert, HighlightCam is a 500 Startups and Y Combinator company.
