100Plus Receives Initial Funding

100Plus, a San Francisco-based personalized health prediction startup, has received an initial funding.

Backers include Founders Fund and Peter Thiel, a managing partner at Founders Fund.

Led by health data analytics veteran Chris Hogg and co-founded by Ryan Howard, Founder and CEO of Practice Fusion, 100Plus is developing an interactive application that leverages large clinical datasets to build predictive models of future health and the impact of personal behavior trends.
The application will also show users how they compare to people like them on common dimensions of health and habits, using game mechanics to encourage incremental changes in behavior.

The company, which is currently hiring and seeking new partners who wish to incorporate additional health data into the model, plans to launch to consumers in beta in mid-2012.
