Chartboost Raises $2M First Funding Round

Chartboost, a San Francisco, CA-based free ad serving technology and marketplace for game publishers, has raised $2m in its initial round of funding.

Investors include TransLink Capital, SK Telecom Ventures and XG Ventures.

The company intends to use the funding to further scale product development, and to reach and serve more publishers globally. It is hiring engineers (http://www.chartboost.com/web/jobs).

Founded by CEO Maria Alegre and Sean Fannan, Chartboost offers a direct-deal advertising marketplace that enables game publishers to monetize by directly promoting other publishers’ apps.
Makers of apps like Pocket Gems, Tinyco, Gameview and The Playforge are already on the company’s marketplace.
