ZocDoc Receives $25M in Series C Funding from Goldman Sachs

ZocDoc, a New York, NY-based free service that allows patients to book doctor appointments online, has increased its Series C funding round from $50m to $75m with an investment from Goldman Sachs.

ZocDoc will use the funds to expand into additional regions. The service is now available in 11 metropolitan areas (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Houston, Phoenix, Washington, DC, Atlanta, San Francisco and Boston), six of which were launched in 2011 to date.

Founded in 2007 by CEO Cyrus Massoumi, ZocDoc allows patients (over 700,000 patients each month, according to the company) to find nearby doctors who accept their insurance and book primary care, dermatologist, eye-doctor, ENT, orthopedist, OB/GYN, allergist, podiatrist, cardiologist, pediatrician, radiologist and psychiatrist appointments online.
The service is free for patients. Doctors pay $250 per month.
