SweetLabs Raises $13M in Series C Funding

SweetLabs, Inc., a San Diego-based developer of an advertising network (OpenCandy) and an app platform (Pokki), has raised $13m in Series C funding.

The round was led by Intel Capital, with participation from existing investors Google Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds:
– to invest in the growth of Pokki, the company’s new platform (launched in beta on June 28) that allows developers to create and distribute desktop apps using standard web languages like HTML5.
– to continue to expand their first platform, the OpenCandy advertising network, which powers user-friendly software recommendations during the download and installation process of desktop apps.

SweetLabs, which was founded in 2008 by CEO Darrius Thompson, is currently hiring (http://sweetlabs.com/category/jobs/).
