Sailthru Raises $8M in Series A Funding

Sailthru, a New York-based platform that delivers users highly relevant, personalized content via email, the web or advertising channels, has raised $8m in Series A funding.

The round was led by RRE Ventures, with participation from existing investors AOL Ventures, DFJ Gotham Ventures, Lerer Ventures, Pilot Group, and Thrive Capital, as well as new backer Hatteras Funds.

The company intends to use the new funds to expand in the e-commerce, flash sales and publisher markets, as well as add staff (https://www.sailthru.com/careers) and invest in continued innovation.

Led by CEO Neil Capel, Sailthru has developed a technology that lets publishers and e-commerce companies communicate directly to the individual user and deliver highly-relevant, personalized content through a number of channels. As users actively participate in the process their behavior provides insight to create an experience that is even more personal and engaging, which encourages a profitable relationship between brand and customer.
