MeLLmo Raises $30M in First Funding Round

MeLLmo Inc., a San Diego, CA-based provider of mobile applications that allow users to view and interact with critical business information when out of office, has raised $30m in its first round of institutional funding.

The round was led by Sequoia Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to continue development of its Roambi products, and expand its operations globally.
MeLLmo currently operates offices in Boston, New York City, San Francisco, London and Shanghai. The company plans to open new offices, hire new professionals at a regional level and develop localized versions of Roambi Analytics and Roambi Flow.

In conjuction with the funding, Greg McAdoo of Sequoia will join MeLLmo’s board. David Spector will join as a board observer.

Launched in 2009, the company provides:
– Roambi Analytics, a mobile business intelligence solution that makes company reports and data quick to access and easy to interact with, via dashboard-style analytics, on any iPhone or iPad;
– Roambi Flow, which allows people to tell the story behind their mobile analytics on any iPad through engaging magazine-style reports and publications built with a simple point and click publisher tool.

Customers include companies and organizations such as Primerica and Vodacom SA, with Roambi customers, resellers and partners now in 14 countries worldwide.
