Lookout Mobile Security, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of smartphone security solutions, today announced the closing of a $40m funding.
The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from existing investors Khosla Ventures, Accel Partners and Index Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to broaden its product offerings, expand globally and continue adding to its team.
Led by CEO and co-founder John Hering, Lookout delivers protection from threats facing mobile users today, including malware and spyware as well as data and device loss.
In conjunction with the funding, Jeff Jordan from Andreessen Horowitz will join the company’s Board of Directors.
