Authentix Completes $15M Series C Equity Financing

Authentix, an Addison, TX-based provider of brand protection, excise tax recovery, and supply chain security solutions, has completed a $15m Series C equity financing.

Backers include existing shareholder The Carlyle Group, J.H. Whitney, Manti Holdings, and other shareholders including members of the company’s executive team.

Authentix intends to use the funding to expand its Currency business unit, specifically its high-speed banknote sensor platforms, to continue to invest in its core authentication and brand protection capabilities in key industry verticals including oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, spirits and personal care, as well as to pursue strategic acquisitions of complementary technologies.

Launched in the banknote industry in 2006, the company currently provides six leading central banks with a Banknote Sensor Platform, which includes security inks, security taggants and high-speed sensors that assess authenticity and ensure the quality of every note they have in circulation.

Founded in 2003 and led by Chairman David Moxam, Authentix serves governments and Fortune 500 companies worldwide.
