WRG Creative Communications Secures £12M Private Equity Investment from LDC

WRG Creative Communications, a Manchester, UK-based creative live events and marketing agency, secured a £12m private equity investment from LDC.

The company intends to use the proceeds from the investment to further expand both its suite of services and its geographical reach, particularly in central and eastern Asia.

Established in 2005 and led by CEO Barry Day, WRG designs, produces and delivers innovative live events for global blue chip clients. The company has broad sector experience, particularly in pharmaceuticals, IT and energy specializing in product launches, summits, ceremonies, live broadcasts, bespoke installations and marketing services (including creative design, branding consultancy, web-services and film & digital services).
The firm, which operates additional UK offices in London and High Wycombe, and overseas bases in New York and Doha, Qatar, currently employs over 110 staff, including event producers, art directors, designers, marketing specialists, film producers and editors, together with an international bank of specialist freelance professionals.

In conjunction with the investment, Simon Braham, investment director of LDC, will join WRG’s board. WRG has also appointed Jim Faulds, founder of Scottish marketing firm The Faulds Group, as Non-Executive Chairman and Michael Grade, the former BBC Chairman as Non-Executive Director.
