Taptera Raises $2M in Series A Funding

Taptera, a San Francisco-based developer of Apple mobile enterprise apps, has raised $2m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Terence Garnett, with participation from salesforce.com and a range of CEOs, Silicon Valley investors and veterans including M.R. Rangaswami and David Murphy.

In conjunction with the funding, Garnett will join the company’s board of directors.

Established in 2011, Taptera plans to use the new funds to develop an innovative portfolio of Apple iPad and iPhone apps designed to advance processes for sales, operations, collaboration and creativity. Its first app, called Colleagues, is a mobile employee directory that will be launched this fall.

Led by CEO Chris O’Connor and chief product officer Dan McCall, the company’s management team also includes Chief Design Officer John Ellenich, and Chief Technology Officer Mike Janson.
