Pong Research Corporation, a Panorama City, CA-based global provider of science-based solutions that protect cell phone users from the potentially harmful effects of radiation exposure, received a private equity investment of undisclosed amount from Catterton Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its global marketing and distribution growth, particularly in North America, Europe and China.
Following the investment, Pong’s team, led by President and CEO Shannon Kennedy, will continue to manage the company.
Pong provides patented cell phone cases, which are designed to redirect cell phone radiation away from the user while also protecting the cell phone’s signal strength.
According to the company, its solutions have been proven in laboratories and certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Its products are currently sold in over 25 countries worldwide.
Pong employs an international team of scientists with expertise in the fields of plasma physics, environmental science, electrical engineering, antenna design, and health sciences.
