Hive Media, a San Carlos, CA-based company that creates social media games, has raised $1.5M in Series A funding.
Backers include investors from Keiretsu Forum, The Angels’ Forum, Band of Angels, and Golden Seeds.
The company intends to use the funds to develop a game based on the television show Animal Planet and to grow their already-released game based on the television show Deadliest Catch.
Led by CEO Brian Laing, Hive Media creates social media games that allow fans to extend their engagement and live their favorite hit movies, TV series or brands via Facebook, iPad and mobile devices. The company selects shows that have significant brand recognition, large ardent fan bases, and high profile marketing and ad sales programs.
